Just when everything was going silky smooth for the Australian side, a big hiccup arrived in the form of a run-out that led to Mitchell Marsh's wicket.
Chasing a paltry 210, Australia had lost the crucial wickets of David Warner and Steve Smith, as they were put in a spot of bother. However, Mitch Marsh took matters in his own hands and started a brilliant counter-attacking innings that derailed Sri Lanka's momentum.
The Aussie opener reached his fifty in no time as the team were cruising in the run-chase. However, one lapse of concentration led to the all-important wicket of Marsh.

The incident occurred in the 15th over of the match, when Marsh ferociously cut Theekshana's delivery towards deep point region and immediately asked for a couple of runs from his partner, Marnus Labuschagne. Chamika Karunaratne, situated at deep point came charging towards the ball as the two batter had a minor hiccup and there was a slight mixup which resulted in the wicket.
The throw from Karunaratne was inch perfect as the keeper dislodged the bails in a flash. A dejected Marsh had to walk back to the pavilion.
Talking about the match, Australia have lost 3 wickets, and still need 117 to win their first game of the tournament.
