In reply, Sri Lankan bowlers also started positively and took three quick wickets to put Australia in trouble. Skipper Alyssa Healy was the first one to depart in the first over, and a brilliant piece of fielding resulted in a second wicket for the Women in Yellow.

Meanwhile, Ellyse Perry and Beth Mooney were going strong and stitched a 21-run stand before Sugandika Kumari got rid of the RCB star. On the 3rd ball of the sixth over, she bowled a full-length delivery pitched outside the off-stump, and it cleaned up Perry, who returned to the pavilion with a score of 17 (15), which featured three fours.

Perry has had a decent outing with the bat recently as she scored 78 runs in three innings against White Ferns in the recently concluded bilateral series and averaged 26. Also, talking about the Hundred, Perry scored 203 runs in eight innings averaging 29.

Talking about the ongoing match, Australia are 52/3 after eight overs and require 42 runs to win in 72 deliveries.
