Dunith Wellalage had a day to remember when India faced Sri Lanka in the first ODI of the three-match series in Colombo.

The 21-year-old, who smashed an unbeaten 67 off 65 balls earlier with the help of seven fours and two sixes, took the dangerous wicket of Rohit Sharma, who looked ominious in the middle with the bat in hand.

It was a lovely tossed-up delivery by Wellalage, and Rohit went for a wild sweep to smash it over the ground. However, he failed to make a connection with it, and in the process, the ball went on to hit the India skipper's bat.

Soon after, with the appeal coming, umpire raised his finger, and thus, Rohit lost his wicket after an entertaining 47-ball 58. Then, Wellalage pointed his fingers towards the sky, thanking God for success.
