The St Lucia Kings are playing against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the 17th match of the CPL 2024. This game is being played at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St. Lucia.

The Falcons won the toss ahead of the game and invited the St. Lucia Kings to bat first. Johnson Charles and Faf du Plessis, the two openers of the St. Lucia Kings, got them off to a good start.

Charles and Du Plessis got Kings off to a steady start

Both batters were a bit cautious in the beginning. However, momentum started to get injected into the Kings' progress during the third over. It was Faf du Plessis who started the attack, and much to the dismay of the Falcons, he was given a life during the over.

On the third delivery of the over, Amir bowled a full delivery outside the off stump. Faf du Plessis flashed at the ball and got a great connection on it. The ball flew towards Justin Greaves at short covers. Greaves timed his jump nicely and got his hands to the ball but failed to hold onto the catch.

Du Plessis slammed Mohammad Amir for a six after being dropped

Mohammad Amir was not happy with the effort of the fielder. But du Plessis added to the misery of the Pakistani bowler in the next delivery. This time, Amir went shorter at the body of the batter. Du Plessis spotted the length early and rocked back to pull it away over the mid-wicket region for a maximum.

The skipper of the Kings seemed to have found rhythm after this. However, he failed to convert it into something big. While Charles fell in the fifth over after a 40-run partnership with du Plessis, the latter followed in the next over. Roston Chase also followed the top two for a golden duck. The Warriors made a roaring comeback into the match with three quick wickets.

At the time of writing, the Kings are stationed at 84/3 in 10 overs.
