Devon Conway started cautiously against the Netherlands on Monday (October 9) during New Zealand's World Cup 2023 outing at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. The stylish left-handed batsman, however, once he got set in the middle, started to play audacious strokes one after another.
Conway's first gorgeous shot, which launched him into action, came in the sixth over of New Zealand's innings. It was against Ryan Klein, who bowled a low full toss just outside the off stump. Conway did not pass up the opportunity to pick it; he skillfully sent it through extra cover for a delightful boundary.
Not a single Dutch player moved an inch, as it was so perfectly placed by Conway before the ball touched the boundary rope.

Conway began to play aggressively from thereon, and Will Young joined hands after they played three maiden overs to kick off the proceedings. While Conway is batting on 20* off 22 balls, Young is on 27* off 24 deliveries.
