New Zealand and Australia are currently locking horns for the first T20I match of Australia's tour of New Zealand. The teams will clash for a three match T20I series ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 followed by two test matches as a part of WTC cycle 2023-25.

In the first game of the series, New Zealand won the toss and chose to bat first and the Kiwis put a huge total on the board at the Westpac Trust stadium in Wellington. The Black Caps squad scored 215 runs on the board as their top order batsmen Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra scored 63 and 68 runs respectively.

The New Zealand squad gave the Aussies a target of 216 runs as they picked quick wickets in the second innings to dismiss the Australian top order batting lineup. The World Cup sensation Travis Head was previously dismissed by Adam Milne at a score of 24.

On the last ball of the seventh over, the Kiwi pacer Mitchell Santner dismissed David Warner as Glenn Phillips caught him at the wide long on.

David Warner departed at a score of 32 after playing 20 deliveries and smashing three gigantic sixes along with the boundary at a strike rate of 160. The Australian batter Mitchell Marsh is currently leading Australia as a hope for the Aussies to chase the high total.

The team will next meet for the second T20 match of the series on 23rd February at Eden Park in Auckland. The fans in India can stream the matches of the series at Prime Video.
