David Warner Catch (Source: @BBL/X.com)
It was not long ago when the pocked-sized dynamo, or David Warner as he is officially known, retired from international cricket, but now, the left-hander has stunned everybody after taking one of the finest catches in BBL history. It all happened during the encounter against Perth Scorchers, in which his side, Sydney Thunder, comfortably won.
Still actively involved in playing T20 leagues and tournaments, Warner is currently leading his side Syndey Thunder in ongoing BBL 14 and has done wonders with the bat, apart from occasional magic on the field.
Warner Grabs A Stunner Running Backwards
During the third ball of the fourteenth over, when Scorchers were reeling at 76 for 6, Ashton Agar played a slap over the mid-off region against Mohammad Hasnain, however, that was where the Thunder skipper Warner was stationed, who caught it as perfectly as he ever could with both feet up in the air and his judgement being spot-on.
Agar expected the ball to go over the top of the fielder, but his mis-timed shot didn't help his cause. As soon as he was caught, Warner went crazy on the field with a pumped-up celebration with his teammates getting hold of what just happened.
Even David couldn't believe that he caught it with such elegance without making any error whatsoever, hence ending Agar's innings on 7.
Thunder Run Away Over Scorchers In A One-Side Encounter
By that point, the result was pretty much decided with no proper batters to come and the target being fairly out of reach for Scorchers who were chasing 159 for victory. Ultimately, they were bowled out for 97 losing by margin of 61 runs, with Chris Green bagging three wickets to his name.
Earlier in the day, Sam Konstas played a fine 53-run knock with ample support from Tom Andrews, who knocked 37 off just 13 deliveries, pushing their side's score to 158.
