In the ongoing 20th match of BPL between Rangpur Riders and Khulna Tigers at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Khushdil Shah delivered a breathtaking display of power-hitting. The Pakistani all-rounder smashed four consecutive sixes during a scintillating knock to propel Rangpur Riders to a commanding total of 186/5 in their allotted 20 overs.

The left-hander’s unbeaten 73-run blitz was no doubt the highlight of the innings, leaving the Tigers’ bowlers helpless. After opting to bat first, Rangpur Riders struggled initially, losing Steven Taylor and Saif Hassan cheaply. Tawfique Khan steadied the ship briefly with a 36-ball 30 but failed to accelerate when it mattered most.

The Ultimate Explosive Over

The turning point came when Khushdil Shah joined Iftikhar Ahmed at the crease. While Iftikhar played a measured knock and made 43 runs off 34 balls. On the other side, Khushdil launched a fiery assault. His innings reached pinnacle in the 15th over of the first innings. The over was bowled by Nasum Ahmed, where he smashed four consecutive sixes.

In the first ball of the 15th over, Nasum Ahmed delivered a fullish delivery outside off, Khushdil got down on one knee and launched it over deep midwicket for 76-meter six. In the second ball that wa length ball outside off Khushdil took the advantage and launched another maximum towards widish long-on.

In the third ball, Khushdil dispatched full toss ball over deep square leg for a third consecutive six of the over.  In the fourth ball, Nasum Ahmed attempted a full delivery around off stump, but Khushdil stood tall and slapped it over widish long-on for an 89-meter six.

The Tigers’ bowlers, who had managed to maintain control early on, crumbled under the onslaught. The lack of discipline and execution allowed Rangpur to recover from a sluggish start and post a hefty total.  At the time of writing, KT need 128 runs in 81 balls, with Mohammad Naim and Mehidy Hasan Miraz at the crease.
