The seventh match of the ongoing third season of SA20 will be played between Pretoria Capitals and Sunrisers Eastern Cape at the SuperSport Park on Tuesday. Placed at the bottom of the points table respectively, PC and SEC are the only two teams without a victory this season till now.

Pretoria Capitals

Had they scored three more runs in their season opener against Durban’s Super Giants on Friday, Pretoria wouldn’t have lost a single match at this point in time. With their second match against the same opposition, their first at home this season, getting abandoned without a ball being bowled, they are comparatively better placed than their imminent opponents.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape

Having won the first two SA20 seasons, Eastern Cape losing their last two matches by substantial margins of 9 wickets and 97 runs is shocking, to say the least. Apart from being the only team without a single point in front of their name, Sunrisers also have the worst NRR (Net Run Rate) under their belt for now.

PC vs SEC Head To Head Record

Finalists of the inaugural SA20 season, Capitals and Sunrisers clashed five times across the first two seasons.

PC vs SEC: What Happened When They Last Played?

Played at the same stadium around a year ago, the last encounter between these two teams was an archetype low-scoring thriller. Put in to bat first by visiting captain Aiden Markram, all Pretoria had managed was a below par innings total of 125 in 18.3 overs.

Eastern Cape, who never really found the winning momentum in the second innings, ended up with 122/9 in 20 overs to fall short by 3 runs. While three bowlers from both the teams had dismissed as many batters, Capitals’ Eathan Bosch (4-0-11-1) was adjudged the Player of the Match in spite of not bowling after the 13th over of the innings.
