[Watch] Daryl Mitchell’s Spectacular Catch Forces Babar Azam To Miss 'Special' Century

Babar Azam was on the verge of hitting a memorable hundred in his first outing in India on Friday (September 29). However, a spectacular effort from Daryl Mitchell on the field did not allow him to do that, forcing him to leave the field after a classy 84-ball 80 in their World Cup warm-up clash in Hyderabad.

It was a slower delivery by Mitchell Santner, who pitched on a length region and turned away outside the off stump. Babar, currently the No. 1-ranked ODI batsman in the world, tried to play a slog sweep on one knee, but did not get the timing right.

As a result, the ball did not clear the boundary, and Daryl Mitchell, charging in from the long-on region, took an excellent low catch to complete his dismissal.

Unsurprisingly, Babar seemed dissapointed after the catch, considering he had the opportunity to get to another scinitilating hundred, that too in his first match in India. The stylish batter started to walk to the dressing room slowly after a brilliant knock, which was laced with eight fours and two sixes.

At the time of writing, Pakistan are batting on 192/3 in 35.4 overs, with Mohammad Rizwan going strong on 73* off 78 balls. Saud Shakeel is batting from another end, on 17-ball 15.
