Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill had a dream outing in his sides' ongoing IPL 2024 clash against Chennai Super Kings at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Opening the batting, Gill hammered the CSK bowlers to all parts of the ground en route a blistering innings. 

However, the stylish batter also had a lucky escape, riding on Tushar Deshpande's fielding blunder near the boundary ropes. 

The incident took place during the 14th over of GT's innings when Gill and Sudharsan were breathing fire with their flamboyant strokeplay.

After starting the over with a dot ball, CSK all-rounder Daryl Mitchell conceded a huge six on his next delivery. 

However, he was able to deceive the GT skipper with a back of the hand slow ball, with Gill mis-hitting it in the air. 

Tushar Deshpande, stationed at the long off, had a golden opportunity to hold on to the catch and help the visitors get Gill's prized scalp. 

However, he committed a blunder, dropping a simple catch and giving the batter a lifeline. His sloppy fielding left Mitchell unamused as he expressed his frustration instantly. 

Meanwhile, CSK are yet to take a wicket in the game, with GT placed at 193 for no loss in 15.3 overs as of writing.
