Ben Duckett started Champions Trophy 2025 with a brilliant hundred and followed it up with another fifty in the second game. He was expected to make an impact in England's final game as well, but could not carry on and get a big score against South Africa. He departed for 24 off 21 balls and departed against red-hot Marco Jansen.
England Crumble Against South Africa
Duckett's wicket was the third one for South Africa of the game. It was the fourth ball of the seventh over and and Marco Jansen bowled a length delivery, on middle and leg. Ben Duckett tried to work it towards the leg side, but played it bit early and it went off the leading edge back to the bowler.
He grabbed a sharp catch and Ben Duckett walked off the field disappointed. Marco Jansen was delighted with the wicket and came with a mysterious celebration as England were reduced to 37 for three.
All the three wickets were taken by Marco Jansen and he has once again shown his ability to strike with the new ball. England are already out of the tournament after losing initial two games of the tournament and it is the last game for Jos Buttler as England captain.
South Africa, on the other hand, have a great chance of topping Group B. They started off the tournament with a win against Afghanistan, but their second game was washed out due to rain and would be hoping to notch up a win and take that confidence into the semis.
