During the ongoing IPL 2024, allegations of toss tampering surfaced during a match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, with fans accusing match referee Javagal Srinath of altering the toss result.

However, social media users swiftly debunked these claims with video evidence. Despite the controversy, the issue resurfaced during Mumbai Indians' match against Punjab Kings, as stand-in skipper Sam Curran personally verified the toss result before the match referee picked up the coin. Broadcasters even zoomed in to confirm that Punjab Kings had won the toss and opted to field. 

"We will have a bowl," stated Curran, explaining their decision and a couple of tactical changes in the lineup due to Shikhar's absence. 

The incident echoes a previous controversy where a video allegedly captured a conversation between Faf du Plessis and Pat Cummins, sparking further speculation about toss manipulation. Such incidents highlight the intense scrutiny and speculation surrounding crucial moments in the IPL, fueled by social media discussions and video analyses.
