Riding on Brandon McMullen's extraordinary opening spell and a superb effort from his colleagues, Scotland have pushed West Indies down on the mat in their ongoing Super Six encounter of the ICC World Cup Qualifiers.

After winning the toss, Scotland skipper Richie Berrington opted to bowl first, allowing his bowlers to exploit the seam-friendly conditions early on. The Scottish pacers justified their skipper's call, as they ran through the Windies lineup, reducing them to 60 for five in the blink of an eye.

Johnson Charles, who struck a glorious 55-ball 54 against the Netherlands, seemed clueless against Brandon McMullen before gifting him his wicket for nought in the second over.

Experienced batter Shamarh Brooks followed Charles' footsteps, becoming the second victim of McMullen in the fourth over of the innings.

Although Brandon King played a couple of delightful shots, McMullen put an end to his brief stay, dismissing him for a run-a-ball 22 in the sixth over. If that wasn't enough, Chris Sole and Safyaan Sharif aggravated the Windies' miseries, getting rid of Kyle Mayers and Shai Hope, respectively.

As a result of Scotland's onslaught, West Indies find themselves in a spot of bother in this must-win fixture. As of writing, the Men in maroon are reeling at 63 for five in 15 overs, with Nicholas Pooran and Jason Holder batting on 14* and 2*, respectively.
