Promising seamer Josh Tongue emerged as England's saviour in the ongoing Lord's Test, as he provided them with the prized scalp of David Warner, who looked all set for another impactful knock.

The incident occurred in the 25th over when Warner and Usman Khawaja were forming a consolidating stand for the visitors. As Australia had a healthy 154-run lead with ten wickets in hand, England desperately needed someone to break the opening stand between two stylish southpaws.

English skipper Ben Stokes' decision to use Tongue against the Australian duo proved to be a masterstroke, as the right-arm seamer beat Warner with a beautiful delivery, trapping him plumb in front of the stumps in this process.

As soon as he appealed, the on-field umpire raised his finger, declaring Warner out. However, the batter went upstairs, hoping the DRS to save him.

But unfortunately, there was no bat involved and the hawk eye predicted the ball to be crashing into the stumps, as it appeared three reds on the big screen. Thus, Warner, who was cleaned up by none other than Tongue, became the bowler's victim for the second consecutive time.

After Warner's departure, Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne are battling it out for Australia in the middle. As of writing, the visitors are in a commanding position, placed at 67 for 1, having a 158-run lead with nine wickets in hand.
