Mitchell Marsh scored his first hundred in the World Cup on Friday (October 20) in Match 18 of the ongoing edition against Pakistan at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. In the process, the all-rounder achieved an unique feat which, in 48-year-old’s tournament’s history, has only happened once before.

Marsh is celebrating his 33rd birthday on Friday, and by notching a three-digit mark, he became the second player in the competition’s history to achieve the feat, after Ross Taylor.

Rightly so, Marsh was pumped up after getting to his second hundred in the ODIs. Immediately after hitting Mohammad Nawaz for four, he leaped in joy, and seemed super delighted to get there on his special day.

Even David Warner, who got to his fourth successive ODI hundred against the Men in Green just before Marsh’s milestone, enjoyed what he saw from the other end, and hence, congratulated his partner for making it happen.

Coming to bat, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh went for all guns blazing against the helpless Men in Green attack, who were smacked from left, right, and centre throughout the innings.

At the time of writing, Australia have reached 241/0 in just 32.4 overs, with Warner batting on 119* whereas Marsh is on 109*.
