Jemimah Rodrigues is known for her excellent fielding skills and the Indian cricketer showcased her athleticism during the 2nd ODI vs the West Indies side. She is one of the safest fielders in women's cricket and the opposition side found it first hand today.
Chasing a tricky 359, West Indies needed a miracle, but they lost wickets at regular intervals as almost all the batters faded away easily. However, Hayley Matthews put up a fight as she fought like a lone warrior and scored a majestic century to somehow keep the Windies in the contest.
Her patience eventually gave up as Pratika Rawal bowled a tossed up ball on the middle stump and the batter went for a big slog. The ball took a top-edge as it looked like the ball will fall in the no man's land. However, Jemimah from deep mid wicket charged quickly towards the ball and dived in brilliantly to grab a stunner.
Jemimah, Harleen pile on 358 for India
Batting first, India posted a mammoth 358 runs and seemingly took the visitors out of the game. The carnage was started by Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal as the opening duo added 110 runs for the first wicket and scored their respective half-centuries.
Post that, it was the Harleen Deol show as she slammed her maiden ODI ton and it was accompany by a quick-fire fifty from Jemimah, who was dismissed for a 36-ball 52 as a giant score was posted by the home side. The total was enough on the board as India won the match by 115 runs and sealed the series.
