Peshawar Zalmi skipper Babar Azam has been in exceptional form lately, and he once again ignited his team's innings in the latest Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 clash against Lahore Qalandars. 

Stepping onto the crease as the opener alongside Saim Ayub, Babar Azam unleashed a barrage of boundaries, accumulating 48 runs off 36 balls, with five well-struck fours, as his name echoed across the entire Multan Cricket Stadium.

The former Pakistan captain, Babar Azam, enjoys a massive fan following in the country, no matter where he plays. He consistently receives enthusiastic cheers from the audience as they fill the stadium in anticipation of catching a glimpse of him.

Meanwhile, the right hander put on a sensational 136-run opening partnership with Saim Ayub playing a breathtaking 88-run knock from just 55 balls. Ayub’s knock was braced with eight boundaries and a total of four maximums. 

Later, Lahore captain, Shaheen Shah Afridi removed Babar Azam for 48 runs. The tall pacer bowled a short of length delivery and the right hander pulled it towards deep mid wicket, where Sikandar Raza completed a safe, yet easy catch. 

In the game before this one, he smashed a 31-run inning against Multan Sultans, the match where Peshawar Zalmi notched their first win of the season. And before that, Babar Azam hit back-to-back centuries, but unfortunately, Peshawar Zalmi ended up on the losing side both times.
