Pakistan's premier batter Mohammad Rizwan showcased his class with the bat in the Markhors' ongoing Champions Cup encounter against the Stallions at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. The gritty wicket-keeper tormented his national teammate Abrar Ahmed, hitting him for a glorious six over extra cover.

The incident occurred during the ninth over of the Markhors' innings when Rizwan had just joined Agha Salman in the middle. Abrar Ahmed, bowling the second over of his spell, was high on confidence, having got the prized scalp of Kamran Ghulam.

Although Abrar initially built pressure on the batting duo with his accurate bowling, Rizwan finally broke the shackles with a stunning six, leaving the wily leg spinner in a disarray. So, after conceding only a single off his first five deliveries, Abrar finished the over on a poor note, with Rizwan dispatching his final ball into the stands.

As Abrar managed to keep Rizwan quiet on two consecutive occasions, he took a gamble by tossing the ball up and inviting the batter for a risky shot. Rizwan grabbed the opportunity with both hands, charging down the track and hitting a magnificent six over the extra cover. His glorious hit reminded fans of Indian batting great Virat Kohli, who plays such delightful classical shots.

Rizwan Perishes As Iftikhar Joins Salman In The Middle

However, Rizwan couldn't convert his start into a significant knock, falling prey to Mehran Mumtaz's left-arm spin. After his dismissal, explosive finisher Iftikhar Ahmed joined Agha Salman in the middle. The duo steadied the ship for the Markhors with a solid stand for the fifth wicket. As of writing, the Markhors were 152 for four in 31.2 overs, with Salman and Iftikhar batting on 51* and 30*, respectively.
