The spotlight will be firmly focused on Babar Azam if no greater players are on the field, like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Similarly, on Sunday (January 14), during Pakistan’s second T20I of the five-match series against New Zealand, taking place at Seddon Park, Hamilton, the former Pakistan made headlines yet again, although in a negative way.

The incident happened during the ninth over of New Zealand’s innnings when Finn Allen, batting on 53 off 24 balls, slammed a crunchy drive through cover off Usama Mir. It should have been a couple of runs, if not one, but Babar’s terrible fielding near the boundary line after running from the long-off region let the ball go for four.

Babar, who has been in the news recently due to poor outings and sloppy fielding, brought another embarrassing moment to his life with that shot which was never on the cards for four runs.
