Cricket is a game of skill and precision, but every now and then, we get moments that leave us laughing out loud. One such hilarious incident unfolded during the 18th match of the ILT20 2025 between the Sharjah Warriors and Desert Vipers on January 25, 2025. Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batter, Azam Khan, who is known for his lively and entertaining presence on the field, stole the show with his antics.

Azam Khan, representing the Desert Vipers, was in action behind the stumps when chaos struck. Khuzaima Bin Tanvir was bowling, and the batsmen at the crease were Ashton Agar and Luke Wells from the Sharjah Warriors. It all went down during the 18th over of the Sharjah Warriors’ innings.

A slight miscommunication between Agar and Wells opened the door for a potential run-out at the striker’s end. With both batters briefly stranded at the non-striker’s end, it seemed like an easy opportunity for Azam Khan to walk up to the stumps and collect the ball.

However, Azam had other ideas. Instead of calmly collecting the ball, he decided to dive theatrically, much like a football player sliding on the ground. Unfortunately for him, he missed the ball entirely. To make matters worse, the ball rolled away, allowing the batters to complete an extra run for the overthrow. At one point, both Agar and Wells were standing at the non-striker’s end, adding to the comedy of errors.

Desert Vipers Win By 8 Wicket

Talking about the match, the Desert Vipers secured a dominant 8-wicket victory, courtesy of a stellar batting display by Alex Hales and Sam Curran. Hales played a match-winning knock, remaining unbeaten on 77, while Curran contributed a brilliant 54 not out, forming a strong partnership to chase down the target with ease. Earlier in the game, Khuzaima Bin Tanvir was the standout bowler for the Vipers, taking 4 crucial wickets and restricting Sharjah to a modest 151-8.
