India had a shaky start to their innings in the ongoing u19 Asia Cup final, losing their in-form batter Ayush Mhatre cheaply. Opening the batting for the Indian team, Mhatre was castled for a solitary run, with Mohammad Al Fahad drawing the first blood for the Tigers.
The incident occurred during the second over of India u19's innings after they restricted their Bangladesh counterparts to 198 in the first half of the game. Left-arm pacer Maruf Mridha kept things tight in the first over before Al Fahad got the Bangladesh fans going with Mhatre's dismissal.
From over the wicket, Al Fahad bowled a full-length delivery that jagged back into Ayush Mhatre after pitching outside the off-stump. He invited the Indian batter for a drive, and the youngster fell in his trap. As he went for an expansive drive away from his body, the ball took the inside edge off his bat, uprooting his off stump.
Ayush Mhatre's wicket held significant importance for Bangladesh u19, as the Indian batter had showcased prolific form in the earlier matches. This was a crucial breakthrough for Bangladesh u19, considering they are defending a paltry total.
