Ravi Bishnoi replaces Kuldeep Yadav [Twitter]
In a significant development, India have opted to bat first in the second T20I against West Indies at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. The visitors have one forced change, drafting Ravi Bishnoi in place of Kuldeep Yadav, who got hit in the nets session conducted before the game.
At toss, Indian captain Hardik Pandya urged his batters to put up a better performance than the last game.
"We are gonna bat first. We will try to put some total on the board and then see how it goes. We spoke about our batting. We identified some errors within the group and are focusing on the things which we can do better," Pandya said.
Meanwhile, Pandya’s counterpart Rovman Powell expressed satisfaction over his side’s convincing win and seemed determined to sustain the winning run.
"The curator has done a great job and we are ready to go. The way we batted in the previous match was fantastic. We didn't lose wickets in clusters and hence we are happy with the batting front," Powell said.
"On the bowling side, we could make a bit better. We are a boundary-hitting side. But we know that the singles and doubles are gonna be important. We haven't made any changes. We are going with the same team," he added.
