In an exciting clash of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2024, Trichy Grand Cholas’ captain, Antony Dhas, produced a moment of sheer brilliance that left fans in absolute awe.

During Match 21 against the Chepauk Super Gillies on Monday in Tirunelveli, Dhas’ airborne stunner was the highlight of an action-packed game.

The drama unfolded when Chepauk was cruising at a solid 117/2 in the 14.2 over mark. With Chepauk’s captain, Baba Aparajit, looking to push the scoring rate, R Rajkumar bowled a length ball outside off-stump.

Aparajit, aiming to dispatch the ball to the leg side, was deceived as the ball took a top edge and soared towards mid-off.

What happened next was pure magic. Antony Dhas, displaying incredible agility and anticipation, sprinted back and launched himself into the air, pulling off a jaw-dropping catch.

His acrobatic catch not only dismissed his counterpart Aparajit for a modest 2 runs off 5 balls but also gave the Trichy Grand Cholas a crucial breakthrough after a blistering start.


Despite this setback, Chepauk's innings was powered by impressive fifties from openers D Santosh Kumar and N Jagadeesan.
