The Rajasthan Royals juggernaut in IPL 2024 came to a heartbreaking end as GT clinched a thrilling three-wicket in the match 24 of the season. RR scored 196 after being asked to bat first and in reply, GT never got going in the chase till the last few overs, and it seemed that the final nail in the coffin was the wicket of Shubman Gill.

The GT skipper scored 72 off 44 balls and was outfoxed by a clever delivery from Yuzvendra Chahal and a brilliant stumping by none other than Sanju Samson. It was the 16th over of the game,  and Gill had hit two back-to-back boundaries to start the over. He tried to hit another one towards the fence but as Gill danced down the track, Chahal threw the ball way wide outside off.

Gill failed to get his bat on the ball and Sanju Samson every cleverly effected a brilliant stumping to leave GT in a deep hole. It was called as wide but the damage was done and the wicket of Gill put RR right on top. However, Rashid Khan's and Rahul Tewatia's played brilliant cameos and Gujarat Titans ended up pulling a last-ball heist at Jaipur.
