Andre Russell, who made a blockbuster arrival on Wednesday, smashed Jofra Archer like a kid when London Spirit were up against Southern Brave in Match 2 of the Men's Hundred 2024 in Southampton.

The ace all-rounder played a cross-batted shot against the speedster, which sailed over the deep mid-wicket for an effortless six.

However, Russell did not last long, as Archer, who made his The Hundred debut on the same day, had his revenge on the next ball.

It was a battle between two of the best in the business in T20s, and no wonder crowd were eagerly waiting for it to see them go face-to-face.

London, batting first, made 138/9, with Liam Dawson taking all the limelight with a breezy 19-ball 45 not out. Skipper Dan Lawrence anchored the innings, making 38 off 30 balls, but failed to give the finishing touches.

For Southern Brave, all bowlers, barring Rehan Ahmed, took at least a wicket. Craig Overton was the pick of them, having returned excellent figures of 3/16 off his 20 deliveries.
