Nicholas Pooran was relentless with the bat when Trinbago Knight Riders took on Guyana Amazon Warriors in Match 30 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 at Providence Stadium. However, the highlight of his blistering knock was the way he smashed Imran Tahir, the Guyana captain, for two effortless sixes on back-to-back deliveries.

Nicholas Pooran Makes Headlines In CPL 2024 With An Extraordinary Century

Pooran's onslaught against Tahir came during the seventh over of the Knight Riders' innings. It was a flighted delivery by the veteran South African spinner, and Pooran stood firm to slam it over the bowler's head for an outrageous six. Then, on the next ball, he made Tahir look helpless, smashing another six straight down the ground, this time with much more distance.

It was just two of Pooran's eight huge sixes of the night, and there were also nine fours to bring sheer joy in the Caribbean. Riding on his heroics, the Knight Riders posted 211/5 on the board at the end of 20 overs.

At the time of writing this, Guyana Amazon Warriors, currently sitting on the top of the CPL 2024 points table, are on a mood, racing 64/1 in just 6.3 overs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Shai Hope seem to be in ominous form, as they have not held back despite losing Kevlon Anderson early. While Gurbaz is batting on 34* off 18 balls, Hope is on 28* off 18 deliveries.
