Gujarat Titans took a sly dig at former captain Hardik Pandya as they captured a transition featuring present captain Shubman Gill. The video depicted how Pandya is history for GT and that they are ready to conquer IPL under Gill’s leadership.

Gujarat Titans made its IPL debut in 2022 and won the title in the first season itself under Hardik’s captaincy. However, after just two seasons, the all-rounder switched back to his old franchise Mumbai Indians through a trade deal.

A helpless GT then appointed Gill as their successor but didn’t see positive results in the 2024 IPL season.

GT Depicts Hardik Pandya As History In New Transition Video

Gujarat Titans finished in bottom two of the points table last year but GT backed Shubman Gill as captain and retained him ahead of the 2025 mega auction.

Meanwhile, after losing their opening game against PBKS, GT will take on Hardik’s team, MI in the upcoming clash scheduled on March 29 at Ahmedabad.

Ahead of the match, GT has fuelled the rivalry by taking a dig at Hardik Pandya through a transition video. The video showed the all-rounder under the shadow of Gill as the latter is now the present and future of the franchise.

That being said, Hardik’s return to MI was also underwhelming as he faced backlash from the fans and Mumbai finished at the bottom of the table.

Hardik To Play His First Game In IPL 2025 Vs GT

Meanwhile, the upcoming match between GT and MI will be Hardik Pandya’s first game in IPL 2025. He missed out on the previous match against CSK since the captain was banned for a game for breaching the slow over rate rule thrice in the IPL 2024 season. In his absence, Suryakumar Yadav led MI, but the team faced a serious four-wicket defeat in Chepauk.
