Mumbai Indians had a forgettable day with the bat in their tenth group-stage IPL 2024 match against Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. After being put into bat first, the five-time champions had a disastrous outing, with the Super Giants ripping through their batting order.

However, youngster Nehal Wadhera emerged as their saviour once again, saving them from embarrassment in this encounter.

Coming at number six, the stylish southpaw played an impactful knock, bailing his side out of trouble.

He took a particular liking for LSG's ace pacer Mayank Yadav, hammering him for a flurry of boundaries during his stay.

The incident took place during the 15th over of MI's innings when they needed someone to accelerate for the team's cause.

Wadhera took the responsibility as he capitalised on Mayank's extra pace to score some valuable runs for his side.

The first ball was a back of the length delivery from Mayank as Wadhera smoked it for a maximum.

Although he played three consecutive dot balls, the Punjab batter made a remarkable comeback by dispatching his fifth ball into the stands. He finished the over on a high note, collecting four more runs to stun the seamer.

However, Wadhera missed out on a well-deserved fifty, with Mohsin Khan castling him with a searing yorker.
