Rahul took an excellent catch off Hardik (X.com)
On a day when Rohit Sharma departed cheaply, Hardik Pandya fell for a golden duck, bringing all sorts of trouble to Mumbai Indians in a must-win tie against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Ekana Cricket Stadium on Tuesday (April 30).
After KL Rahul won the toss and asked MI to bat first, the five-time champions began to lose wickets in quick succession from the get-go. Naveen-ul-Haq joined the party later on, as he got the big fish in Hardik just when MI wanted him to steady the ship.
It was a pitched up delivery by Naveen, who tried to tempt Hardik for a drive. The MI skipper did exactly that, and it cost him hard. The ball could only get a thick outside edge, and Rahul made no mistake while taking a sharp low catch with the big gloves.
With the wicket, Mumbai slipped to 27/4 in just 5.2 overs, leaving LSG fans to erupt in their own backyard.
