Guyanese big-hitter Shimron Hetmyer is building his reputation in the ongoing ILT20 2025 batting for Gulf Giants against Sharjah Warriorz in the ongoing encounter happening at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The left-hander played a solid 36-run knock while smashing boundaries at ease.
It was during the 18th over of the first innings when Hetmyer took the charge versus India-born USA cricketer Harmeet Singh and cleared the fence at will during the left-armer's over.
Hetmyer Goes All Guns Blazing In ILT20
Before the beginning of that very over, Shimron was batting on 21 from 17 balls, and then, he decided to go big from the third ball of the over with a six over deep mid-wicket. The following delivery was bowled a lot wider, however, Hetmyer had no intentions of stopping and again went for the big hit, which was later declared four as the ball had landed inside the fence first.
Many would have thought of rotating the striking after getting two boundaries under their belt, but the leftie was in no mood to halt and thumped the ball again towards the leg-side boundary, only to get another four in the kitty.
Hetmyer was soon dismissed in the very next over by Sharjah skipper Tim Southee as he holed to Jason Roy at deep mid-wicket, hence, ending his innings on 36 from just 23 balls.

Despite an outstanding effort from Hetmyer, the opposition's opener, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, played a gem of an innings to power his side to win that too off the final delivery. Kohler-Cadmore breezed to 83 from 56 balls, staying not out till the end as he ensured the first win of the season for his side by just three wickets.
