Abhishek Sharma was one of the shining stars in IPL 2024 and grabbed plenty of headlines for his ultra-aggressive approach. He was soon drafted into the Indian team for Zimbabwe series and smashed a century there, however, he could not get going in the Bangladesh series at home.
The ongoing South African series was always going to be a crucial one for him, but the left-hander failed to grab his chances in the initial two games. The pressure was on him to deliver in the third T20I and he has done that in style with a swashbuckling 50 off just 25 balls. He his five sixes in his knock along with three fours and was brutal in the Powerplay.

In the second over of the match, he smashed Gerald Coetzee all over the park. The first boundary was a pull shot towards deep mid-wicket while the six on the fourth ball of the over was an audacious hit over deep extra cover. The next ball was driven away beautifully past the point fielder and India managed to get 15 runs from that over.
The onslaught continued with both Abhishek and Tilak Varma batting positively and India reached 70 at the end of the Powerplay. Abhishek eventually got to his fifty in the ninth over with a single against Keshav Maharaj, but the experienced spinner got the better of the Southpaw in the same over.
Earlier, South Africa won the toss and decided to bowl first and got the wicket of Sanju Samson straightaway. India would need a big score in the first innings on a flat deck at the SuperSport Park and it is upto their middle order batters to fire now.
