AUS vs ENG, 3rd ODI: Head, Warner score memorable centuries as Australia complete clean sweep

Australia thumped England by 221 runs to complete a clean sweep on Tuesday. Travis Head and David Warner slammed centuries for the home side as England looked toothless in all three departments of the game and surrendered without putting up a fight.
Head, Warner torment England
England won the toss and elected to bowl first on a gloomy day in Melbourne. It was a decision that England instantly regretted as the opening duo took the attack to the England bowlers. The track at MCG was flat and both Head, Warner took full advantage of it.
England suffered an injury scare mid-way through the game as Phil Salt was injured and was replaced by Moeen Ali (who was rested for this game). It was in the ninth over when Warner pierced the gap through the covers and Salt landed awkwardly on his head trying to chase the ball.
That small halt in the game didn't change the momentum for the Three Lions as Warner and Head bludgeoned their way to a terrific ton. Head was the chief aggressor in the innings and was eventually dismissed for 152 off just 130 deliveries. By the time he was sent packing, the duo had added a record breaking 269 for the opening wicket.
Warner, too scored his 19th ODI century, but was dismissed right after reaching the three-figure mark (106). Rain tried to play the spoilsport twice and eventually the game was reduced to a 48-over game.
Mitchell Marsh gave the finishing touches (30 off 16) as Australia ended their innings at 355 for 5.
Clueless England sink to rock bottom
Fair to say that England were never really in the chase. With Phil Salt out of the match due to concussion, Dawid Malan opened the innings alongside Jason Roy, but the southpaw was back in the hut for 2. It started the carnage as England lost wickets in a flurry and never got the momentum they needed to chase the total down.
Jason Roy, who has struggled throughout the series ended as their top-scorer with 33 off 48 balls. A target of 350 plus proved to be too much for the visitors as they surrendered for 142.
Adam Zampa was the pick of the bowlers, with 4 wickets under his belt.
