Abrar Ahmed is wreaking havoc on batters in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2022, playing for Sindh. Abrar, 24, is the leading wicket-taker in the competition with 43 from just seven matches and received his maiden Test call-up for Pakistan's upcoming three-match series against visiting England next month.

Abrar was picked ahead of the likes of Yasir Shah and Zafar Gohar.  The leg-breaking bowler, while talking to local media, couldn't control his emotions and ended up thanking his Sindh teammates and in particular Sarfaraz Ahmed for constant support this season.

According to Cricket Pakistan, Abrar is eager to keep his performances going against the touring England side come December 1.

"As I started to take wickets in 3 to 4 matches in the ongoing season of the Quaid-e-Azam trophy, my fellow teammates started to tell me that your name will be included in the squad. Sarfaraz Ahmed continuously said you are doing well, your name will be included, and you will play."

Having played in the Pakistan Super League for franchises like Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi, the youngster also talked about his bowling style.

"I used to bowl finger spin with the help of tape-ball, then I joined Rashid Latif cricket academy. I bowl finger spin bowling like Ajanta Mendis and Mujeeb ur Rehman and I also watch Sunil Narine's bowling."

The Test series between Pakistan and England will be starting from December 1 with the first game to be played at Rawalpindi, before the caravan moves to Multan and Karachi for the later games.
