Speedster Riley Meredith has been called up in the Australian squad for the final ODI against England on Tuesday. Mitchell Starc is staying back in Sydney to rest ahead of the first Test against West Indies next week.

Apart from Starc, spinner Ashton Agar will also miss the game after leaving the squad to head to Canberra ahead of the pink-ball Prime Minister's XI game against West Indies on Wednesday.

Pat Cummins is likely to return to the side as the skipper after he was rested from the second ODI in Sydney.

Meredith, who has represented Australia in 1 T20I and 5 ODI matches, has had a strong start to his domestic season. He has scalped two five-wicket hauls and a four-wicket haul across eight Marsh Cup and Sheffield Shield matches.

Australia already have Sean Abbott in the squad, who replaced the injured Glenn Maxwell. He is likely to be included in the playing XI for Tuesday's dead rubber.

Josh Inglis was supposed to captain the Prime Minister's XI, but he had to join the Aussie squad in Sydney as Cameron Green's replacement. Green was flown home to take rest ahead of the West Indies Test series.
