Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga came up clutch for the Rajasthan Royals in match number 11 of the IPL 2025 season. Going up against IPL giants Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, the 27-year-old snared four wickets in his four-over spell to pick one of his career-best figures in IPL.
Hasaranga dismissed four of CSK’s top five batters during the run-chase as the Royals gained a firm grip over Ruturaj Gaikwad’s troops.

Wanindu Hasaranga struck off his first delivery of the match against CSK by removing opening batter Rahul Tripathi. The cricketer also dismissed dangermen Shivam Dube, Vijay Shankar and Ruturaj Gaikwad in each of his subsequent three overs respectively to collect impressive figures of 4-35.

Earlier in the match, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad invited the Rajasthan Royals to bat first after winning the toss. While the Royals raced to an explosive start in the first 10 overs courtesy of a burgeoning 36-ball knock of 81 runs from number three Nitish Rana.
Captain Nitish Rana also compiled 37 runs, albeit from 28 balls as the Rajasthan Royals raced to 182-9 from 20 overs.
