Virat Kohli-Faf du Plessis Puts RCB Miles Ahead of Mumbai

In the first ten overs of the chase, Bangalore's openers - Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis - have almost ended the affair for the five-time champions Mumbai Indians at Chinnaswamy. Courtesy of Du Plessis' 26th IPL fifty and Kohli's burly support from the other end, Royal Challengers Bangalore have put a solid statement towards victory.
As a result, the former RCB captain has also completed 3000 runs in the IPL as an opener.
After Tilak Varma pushed MI’s total to 171, skipper none of Rohit Sharma’s punts worked against the in-form and experienced RCB pair, as they registered their third-ever 100-plus run-stand.
Initially, Mumbai took their chances with left-arm seamers, but it went in vain after the RCB captain didn’t let both Jason Behrendorff and Arshad Khan. Meanwhile, the classist Kohli put the foot on the accelerator against Jofra Archer and the Piyush Chawla.

However, when their eyes settled in, they just took runs from taking. At the moment, the Proteas batter is cruising towards his maiden century, whereas Kohli is unbeaten into the 60s after notching his 45th IPL half-century.
The RCB legend has thus far notched five boundaries and four maximums in his eye-pleasing knock.
