Virat Kohli is one of the legends of the game and is still going strong at the age of 36. He has retired from T20Is, but the batter is showing insane consistency in T20s, and now in the game against Rajasthan Royals, he has reached his 100th fifty in the shortest format of the game.
Virat Kohli Takes RCB Over The Line Against RR
He reached his fifty in 39 balls, and on a difficult track, Virat Kohli helped RCB sail through middle overs without any significant hiccups. The 100th fifty made him only the second player in the history of the game to reach the landmark, and he is now only against David Warner who has 108 fifties to his name.
Also, the fifty against RR, helped him equal David Warner's tally of 66 scores of 50-plus, and one more half-century will take him at the top of that list in the IPL. The third in the list is Babar Azam in the overall fifties in the shortest format and has 90 half-centuries. Chris Gayle has 88 fifties while Jos Buttler is fifth in the list with 86 fifties.
Most half-centuries in T20s:
- 108 - David Warner
- 100 - Virat Kohli*
- 90 - Babar Azam
- 88 - Chris Gayle
- 86 - Jos Buttler
Virat Kohli also made sure that he stayed unbeaten and took RCB over the line in the run chase of 174. He made unbeaten 62 off 45 balls, and RCB now have four wins in six matches of IPL 2025.
