For playing an outstanding 121-run knock off 125 deliveries, saying unbeaten till the end, opener Rohit Sharma was awarded player of the match for smashing 13 boundaries alongside three maximums as he took India to a comfortable victory. Alongside, he also received the Player of the Series award for smashing 202 runs in the series at an average of 101.

Another day, another toss lost by India skipper Shubman Gill, as Australia opted to bat this time around. Skipper Mitchell Marsh scored 41 until Axar Patel bowled him out, while Travis Head departed for 29. Matt Renshaw played an outstanding innings, scoring 56, while Matt Short (30) and Alex Carey (24) were only supported by Cooper Connolly (23) as Australia folded for 236 after 46.4 overs, where Harshit Rana claimed four wickets for 39 runs in his 8.4 overs, with Washington Sundar claiming two, while the rest of the bowlers bagged one apiece.

Chasing 237 for victory, Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill had a decent start, scoring 69 runs for the first wicket when skipper Gill got out for 24, while Rohit Sharma continued his merry ways alongside Virat Kohli. The duo stitched an outstanding 168-run partnership for the second wicket, as Rohit Sharma contributed magnificently, scoring 121 not out off 125 deliveries with 13 boundaries and three maximums, where Virat Kohli defied his form and scored 74 not out from 81 deliveries with seven boundaries, moving past his two consecutive ducks in the first two matches. Rohit, meanwhile, continued his form and scored another brilliant score against the Aussies as India chased the score down in just 38.3 overs, grabbing the victory in the third ODI of the series with nine wickets to spare. Although Australia won the series, India turned heads with their outstanding performance in the third and final ODI of the series in Sydney.

India have won!! The Sydney chase is done. India have done excellent work tonight courtesy of these two Rohit Sharma (121*) and Virat Kohli (74*) doing all the damage. Further, it was Kohli who's ramp shot for four took India to victory in Sydney with 9 wickets and 11.3 overs to spare, as they stitched an unbeaten 168-run partnership for the 2nd wicket!

The speedster, along with Prasidh Krishna and spinners Kuldeep Yadav (1-50) and Washington Sundar (2-44) initiated the Australian collapse as the hosts tumbled from 183-3 to 236 all out in 46.4 overs.
