Returning to the Indian Premier League (IPL) after a gap of two years, Indian pacer Mohit Sharma bowled with figures of 2/18 in his four overs. The out-of-favour bowler who featured in the Cricket World Cup 2015, bowled phenomenally well to help his side Gujarat Titans (GT) restrict Punjab Kings (PBKS) to just 153.

This came after Mohit replaced Yash Dayal in the side for this game and left a sudden impact with two crucial breakthroughs.

After the game, Mohit revealed that he has a good record at this venue due to the fact that he previously represented Punjab. Moreover, the 34-year-talked about how he used his variations to good effect on this wicket as the management had defined his role in the side.

"Did not think too much. I've played three years in Mohali, had a very good time so I was thinking the pitch will be at the slower side. The dew factor was in mind if we bowled in the 2nd innings. I thought of bowling variations but I was fortunate that Hardik was standing besides me. Whenever I was thinking to change, we would discuss and get to a clear vision. That's why we were probably a bit late.

"Every individual has got a different role. I was clear in my mind that 85% of the time I will bowl after the halfway stage. I might get the new ball but I am told when I can do that. All the credit goes to the environment created by the coaching staff. The role is defined which is a very good thing."

Now, Gujarat Titans will be up next against Rajasthan Royals on 16th April at Narendra Modi Stadium.
