IN-W vs WI-W Highlights: Early Breakthroughs and Tight Fielding Bamboozle West Indies Women

After choosing to bowl first, Joshitha VJ's (2-5) probing spell set the tone, dismissing West Indies Women skipper Samara Ramnath lbw and Naijanni Cumberbatch for a golden duck.

India’s fielders then capitalized on poor running between the wickets of the West Indies women, effecting three run-outs to leave Samara Ramnath and Co. struggling. Later, Parunika Sisodia and Aayushi Shukla wrapped up the innings with crucial strikes, bowling the Windies out for 44 runs in 13.2 overs.

Windies Women lost wickets in almost every over with only Asabi Callendar (12) and Kenika Cassar (15) contributing with their small individual scores.

IN-W vs WI-W Highlights: Sanika and Kamalini Clean Up Small Target With Swift Chase

India chased the modest target in just 4.2 overs, with vice-captain Sanika Chalke scoring an unbeaten 18 and wicketkeeper G Kamalini contributing an unbeaten 16. Despite losing Gongadi Trisha early to a caught-and-bowled dismissal, Sanika and Kamalini’s aggressive batting, including six boundaries, sealed the win before rain arrived.

The Niki Prasad-led Indian team began their U19 Women’s T20 World Cup title defence in style, building on their warm-up wins against South Africa and Scotland. They will next face hosts Malaysia in the group stage.
