India secured a 41-run victory over Bangladesh in the final of the inaugural Women's U-19 Asia Cup, held at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday. Batting first after losing the toss, India posted a total of 117 for seven. Bangladesh struggled in their chase and were bowled out for 76 in 18.3 overs.

IND-W vs BAN-W U-19 Asia Cup Final Highlights: Farjana Easmin Strikes Terror, Dismantles India

Bangladesh pacer Farjana Easmin struck terror in the hearts of Indian fans with her impressive bowling in the final. She scalped 4 crucial wickets of the Indian top and middle order which broke the morale of the team and didn't allow any stable partnership to build.

She conceded a total of 31 runs in her spell of four overs and bowled at a solid economy rate of 7.75.

Put to bat first, India faltered from the very beginning. The latest sensation G Kamalini also failed to make a mark in this match. India kept losing wickets in quick succession which let the hopes fade for India to set a challenging total. However, opener Gongadi Trisha held the fort from one side as she notched up 50 off 43 balls.

Trisha's half-ton helped India to push past the 100-run mark and set up a decent total to fight back against Bangladeshi batters. Trisha was dismissed by Farjana Easmin later in the 16th over for 52 runs.

Coming in to chase, Bangladesh's opener Fahimda Choya played an 18-run knock while Mosammat Eva fell for a duck. The skipper Sumaiya Akther also couldn't push herself to a double-digit score. 

Juairiya Ferdous scored the highest among the Bangladesh batters, having 22 runs in her bag off 30 balls. However, it was all in vain as the middle order failed stupendously to a gritty Indian bowling attack.

While Bangladesh started losing wickets from the second over, Aayushi Shukla was instrumental in putting the final nail in Bangladesh Women's coffin. After 14.2 overs, Bangladesh was reeling at 64-5, thanks to Shukla's scalp of Juairiya Ferdous. Shukla began her wrecking there and also chipped Habiba Islam Pinky and Anisa Akter at the end to seal the historic win of the U-19 Asia Cup Final.

Shukla bowled for 3.3 overs and scalped 3 wickets for 17 runs at an economy rate of 4.86 and finished the tournament as the top wicket-taker.
