Toss Delayed In SL vs NEP; Forecasts Not Encouraging

Sri Lanka and Nepal are scheduled to play against each othe in the 23rd match of the T20 World Cup 2024. This match is to be played at the Central Borward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida.

However, the match has been officially delayed due to rain. It has been raining at Lauderhill, Florida since afternoon. The covers are in place and puddle have formed all over the ground. 


The toss has been delayed and the forecast for the day is also not encouraging. Although the rain has stopped temporarily it will take some time to get the ground ready for play. And if rain comes in once more we might be in for a wash out. 



The cut off time for a five over game is 8:18 AM IST, 10:48 PM Local Time. The latest update from the center is that it will take 90 minutes to get the ground ready. So, if rain does not further interrupt the proceedings then there are chances of a full game still now. However, any further rain will result in a match-suspension. 


Effect on the Qualifications

If this game gets washed out, then Sri Lanka will be out of the tournament. Therefore the Sri Lankan team will hope that the match resumes soon and they can get aleast a bit of action.
