Match went right in the last over with Karachi Kings losing the game by 2 runs after Tom Kohler-Cadmore banged 92 in the first innings.

Kohler-Cadmore and Azam run the riot

After being asked to bat first, Peshawar Zalmi lost their opener Mohamed Haris early as Mir Hamza stuck in the second over. But their skipper Babar Azam started to attack the opposition with his glorious shots all over the park. Saim Ayub came and went as he could only manage a single run with Kohler-Cadmore replacing him.

The Englishmen along with the captain forged a massive 139-run partnership for third wicket taking the score to 155 in just 15 overs. Tom was brilliant smashing as many as six sixes with seven fours scoring an impressive 92 in just 50 balls.

At the same time, Azam played 46 deliveries for his classy 68 which gave them a stronghold in the game. In the end, Jimmy Neesham managed 16 which took their score to 199 for the loss of five wickets in their 20 overs. Hamza, Andrew Tye, Imran Tahir and Ben Cutting bagged one each for their side.

Skipper Imad's knock couldn't save Karachi

Chasing 200 for victory, the Kings had a nightmarish start as Sharjeel Khan lost his wicket for a golden duck. Other opener Matthew Wade tried his best in giving a decent start but fell for 23 in the fourth over.

All of a sudden, the Karachi-based side were 46 for four with two new batters Shoaib Malik and captain Imad Wasim at the crease. James Neesham was bowling well as he scalped two wickets out of those four. Match was certainly looking out of their grip but the two had other ideas.

Malik dispatched four fours and two sixes in the game to thump a half-century whereas Wasim stayed unbeaten till the end. When the senior pro departed in the penultimate over, the score was 177 with 23 required off the last 10 balls.

Imad tried his level best to chase down 16 off 6 but couldn't do so as they fell short by just two runs. Wahab Riaz was decent too as he grabbed two in his four overs.
