The ninth match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2023 will be played between Lyca Kovai Kings and Chepauk Super Gillies on Monday, June 19 at NPR College Ground, Dindigul. 

Lyca Kovai Kings started their tournament with a resounding victory, defeating IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans by 70 runs. However, their winning momentum was halted in their subsequent match against Nellai Royal Kings, as they narrowly lost by four wickets in a thrilling encounter that went down to the wire.

Chepauk Super Gillies, on the other hand, picked up right where they left off in the previous season, registering back-to-back wins at the start of this season. They started with a thumping 52-run victory over Salem Spartans. They then continued their winning streak by comfortably chasing down the target against IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans, registering an easy seven wickets win. 

With an impeccable start, the Super Gillies have claimed the top spot in the points table with four points in their account. Meanwhile, the Kovai Kings are currently positioned fourth in the league standings, eager to improve their standing as the tournament progresses.
