The First Ashes Test is underway in full swing at Edgbaston as England gained seven runs lead at the end of the Australia's first innings in the first session of Day 3. They started the second session decently too but after just 41 balls, the play has been stopped as Rain has made its presence felt at Edgbaston. England are 26-0 in their second innings with a lead of 33 and 10 wickets in hand and let's hope that rain fades away soon and the action resumes in what is turning out to be a riveting Test match.

The weather was quite bright and sunny on the opening two days, and plenty of runs were scored by both teams. England continued their bazball tactics on Day 1 and scored 393 runs with eight wickets down, but surprisingly decided to declare with Joe Root batting on 118. Bairstow also played well for his 78, and Lyon was the pick of the bowlers for the Aussies with four wickets.

Talking about Australia’s reply, it was Khawaja who stood tall despite wickets falling at the other end. Actually, the Kangaroos looked all set to take a good lead in the first innings but lost their way once Carey departed, and from 338-5, they were bowled out for 386. Broad and Robinson picked up three wickets each, and England would now be looking to pile up big runs in the second innings.

Talking about the weather today, the forecast shows that there will be rain at least till evening but let's hope that cricket finds the centrestage somewhere down the line on this day 3 and we get some good exciting cricket.
