The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025 witnessed a thriller of a match with the explosive comeback of Tim David to the tournament. Playing his very first match of the season for the St. Lucia Kings, the Australian power-hitter delivered a powerful 46-run knock off 23 balls.

The match between St. Lucia Kings and St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots turned into a classic T20 battle. Batting first, St. Lucia had a shaky start, losing two wickets early.

But Johnson Charles and Roston Chase steadied the innings with solid half-centuries. After Charles was dismissed, Tim David walked in and immediately took charge.

Australian power hitter Tim David extended his purple patch with a blistering 46 runs from just 23 balls, striking at a rate of 200. His innings included five towering sixes and a powerful four, as he along with Chase added 86 runs for the partnership.

Thanks to his fireworks, the Kings posted a strong total of 200/8 in their 20 overs, putting pressure on St. Kitts.

David has ignited his best version as a finisher this year. In the last 5 outings, he scored 102*, 30, 83, 50, 17 and 46. He won the Player of the Series award for the T20I series against South Africa. Even in IPL 2025, David hammered 187 runs with a 62.33 average and won RCB their first maiden title.

While David was ignored for the ODI series against the Proteas, he continues to dazzle in the CPL, thus extending his red-hot form.

David Also Made An Impact On The Field

Meanwhile, the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots were not ready to give up. Jason Holder scored an amazing knock of 63 runs off 29 balls, scoring sixes like it was a walkover, and young Naveen Bidayasi took the chase deep into the last over.

With 13 runs required from the final six balls, the drama intensified further. Bidayasi battled valiantly and reduced the equation to four runs off the final ball. He played well and appeared ready to steal victory for St. Kitts.

But then came the twist, Tim David sprinted to the boundary and pulled off a jaw-dropping catch, turning certain heartbreak into an unforgettable victory for St. Lucia Kings by just three runs.
