Uganda will bowl first vs AFG [X]
In a significant development, Uganda have won the toss and elected to bowl against Afghanistan in the fifth group-stage match of the ongoing T20 World Cup. This marks the first match in the tournament for both sides that would be keen to get off the mark in the points table with a win.
During the toss, Uganda skipper Brian Masaba revealed they would bowl first and try to restrict Afghanistan to a chaseable score.
"We are gonna bowl first. Looks like a pitch where you are not too sure what's a good score. We know they like to chase so hopefully we can put them down to a total we can chase," he said.
On the other hand, Afghanistan skipper Rashid Khan said,
"Well, that's the mindset you have to be in. It's T20 cricket and you have to bring your skills in the game. Just let the skills decide the game. That's great to see them (Uganda) here. Afghanistan were their opposition 10-12 years ago where you had to win to qualify."
