In a significant development, Namibia have won the toss and elected to bowl in their first T20 World Cup group-stage match against Oman. This is the first game between two teams placed in Group-B, which also consists of formidable teams like Australia, England and Scotland. 

At toss, Namibia skipper Gerhard Erasmus reckoned that they would bowl keeping the pitch condition and rain in mind. He said, 

"We are gonna bowl first. I believe it's a good wicket, so we're looking to chase. With some rain around, maybe you can control that part of the game as well and gathering some more information in that first innings."

On the other hand, Erasmus' Oman counterpart Aqib Ilyas said, 

"Its good to bat on the fresh wicket. The ball comes at the bat at night. A good target batting first, you get the other side under pressure so its good to bat first,"

"Its really good to play among the side which we are going to play at the main stage because you get to know the strengths and weaknesses of the side and what your plans are, what you can execute against the batters and bowlers."
