Suryakumar Yadav makes his IPL comeback (X.com)
Rishabh Pant has won and important toss at Wankhede and has decided to bowl first against Hardik Pandya's MI. Suryakumar Yadav is making his much-awaited comeback while Delhi Capitals will be without Mitchell Marsh.
Mumbai Indians have not opened their account on the points table this season, and along with bringing in SKY, they have also brought in Mohammad Nabi and Romario Shepherd as well.
For DC, Jhye Richardson comes in for Mitchell Marsh who is injured and Kumar Kushagra might be used as an Impact Player as he was handed his maiden cap before the all-important toss.
Here are the playing XIs of both the sides -
Delhi Capitals Playing XI: David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, Abhishek Porel, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Tristan Stubbs, Axar Patel, Lalit Yadav, Jhye Richardson, Khaleel Ahmed, Ishant Sharma, Anrich Nortje.
Impact Players: Yash Dhull, Praveen Dubey, Kumar Kushagra, Sumit Kumar, Jake Fraser-McGurk
Mumbai Indians Playing XI: Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (c), Tim David, Mohammad Nabi, Romario Shepherd, Piyush Chawla, Gerald Coetzee, Jasprit Bumrah.
Impact Players: Shams Mulani, Nehal Wadhera, Akash Madhwal, Naman Dhir, Kwena Maphaka
Here is what two captains said -
Rishabh Pant (Delhi Capitals Captain): "We would like to bowl first. Wicket looks pretty good but in Wankhede you can chase any kind of target so we want to do that. We have to stick together as a team. Personal performance is coming but at the same time if we can stick together at the same time, it will be good for us as a team. Happy to be back. Each match gives me immense pleasure on the field. As a cricketer I feel better and better. Bowling is one department we have been on and off. In T20 its hard for the bowlers as the wickets are nice for the batters but this is a job they chose. We have 2 changes. Mitchell Marsh is injured so Jhye Richardson replaces him. Lalit [Yadav] replaces Rasikh [Salam]."
Hardik Pandya (Mumbai Indians Captain): "We would have bowled first as well. Batting first is also not a problem. This was the same surface that was used in the last game. I feel the ball won't come onto the bat nicely as in the night. But it has been rolled nicely. The moisture will be less but having said that, it looks to be a good pitch to bat on first. It's just about getting the win here. As a group, we are quite confident that one win will bring a couple more, just like in cricket, a wicket brings a couple more. (Having 18,000 kids in the stadium) It's fantastic. 18,000 young hearts cheering and supporting us. It's a special game for us because we will be representing these 18,000 kids who will hopefully, go back with a smile on their face. We have three changes. Surya comes back in place of Naman. Romario comes in place of Kwena and Nabi comes in place of Brevis."
So, both teams have made some important changes for this crucial game, and we can expect lot of fireworks with two power-packed teams on a flat batting deck at Wankhede.
